We hope you view it as an honor that your son has been recommended for the team of student-athletes profiled and covered on Get a Look Sports™. At Get a Look Sports, our mission is to recognize student-athletes for their accomplishments while providing a centralized medium for these achievements to be seen by a larger audience.
Your involvement with our organization goes a long way in helping us recognize student-athletes in high school sports today with aspirations of playing college baseball who also meet certain standards. In today’s society, it seems that all too often the “student-athletes” who receive the majority of recognition receive it not because they balance academics and athletics the right way. More often than not, today’s student-athletes receive recognition based solely on athletic performance seemingly without regard to academics.
I see it every year where a certain athlete coming out of high school is hyped to be the next Joe Namath or the next Bo Jackson only to find out later they did not qualify academically for college. At Get a Look Sports, we hope to bring you the best of both worlds…student-athletes who have the ability to play college baseball, and, more importantly, maintain the grades necessary to do so.
Ever notice how the word “student” appears before the word “athlete” when we talk about student-athletes? The structure of the word to me has always implied academics should come before athletics. It is my vision that Get a Look Sports will continue to embrace the fact that an education comes first.
To the parents, I would like to say thank you for your interest in our organization, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
