Why Coaches and Teachers Like What We’re Doing

January 28, 2009 by admin · Comments Off

bball_coaches600x200At Get a Look Sports, we believe that student-athletes should not be defined solely based on athletic performance, but by their body of work as a whole.  By highlighting academic, athletic, and other off-the-field achievements, Get a Look Sports recognizes student-athletes not only for their accomplishments on the field, but in the classroom and community as well.

Statistical and biographical information are provided for student-athletes featured on Get a Look Sports. With time at a premium, more and more college administrators and scholarship foundations are turning to the internet as a means of finding this type of information.  At Get a Look Sports, we believe this trend will continue.

It is our mission to make quality information available that can be used for the advancement of student-athletes nationwide.  From what coaches and teachers tell us, we are on the right track.

Meet the Founders of Get a Look Sports

January 28, 2009 by Sandy · Comments Off

chip_tom_for_pageGet a Look Sports was founded in 2007 by Chip and Tom Whitaker.  Growing up in rural Alabama, the brothers worked tirelessly to fulfill their dreams of one day becoming collegiate athletes. As a product of their hard work and dedication, Chip and Tom were both awarded academic and athletic scholarships out of high school.

After graduating from Marengo Academy in Linden, Alabama, both brothers pursued baseball careers before entering doctorate level academic programs at Auburn University’s Harrison School of Pharmacy and the UAB School of Dentistry.

While in school, the brothers kept a finger on the pulse of high school athletics through their younger brother Chris.  Through Chris’s recruiting process as well as their own, Chip and Tom quickly recognized a need for greater coverage of student-athletes.  Out of this, the idea behind Get a Look Sports evolved.

After researching their concept with college administrators, teachers, college coaches, high school coaches,  and fans, Chip and Tom were even more motivated to push Get a Look Sports towards reality.  The positive response the brothers received was overwhelming.

Today, hard work and dedication continue to define Get a Look Sports and its founders.  Get a Look Sports showcases student-athletes who are excelling both on and off the field.
